You don't need to say a word No need to turn your heart You were the same you are today In you I find no lack Though we walk a thousand times Through rooms that have no walls I will love you most of all The memories of when we were together Fade into the setting sun again But then begin to turn like stormy weather We've been waiting for so long just to swim If the lines of mountain sides Are all but in our minds I promise I will honour you And make your journey mine And though I know a thousand years Will pass as we arrive I will love you all of my life The memories of when we were together Fade into the setting sun again But then begin to turn like stormy weather We've been waiting for so long just to swim I found my love was resting on A shiny grain of sand The hopes and dreams will float along Until they reach my hand But over time a thousand words Will be upon my heart "I love you" To say it ain't that hard The memories of when we were together Fade into the setting sun again But then begin to turn like stormy weather We've been waiting for so long just to swim

3pm on a Sunday arvo and I went up to the hills There's a silence I've never felt here before gives me the chills We're stuck in our ruts and we're stuck in our homes Some are feeling at rest and some are feeling alone The dusty miller is flowering it must be August The dusty white covering the banks of this forest And I got to a place almost fell to my knees Just to humble myself before the earth like the leaves I wrote a song about four years ago But I never knew it would follow me home Listen to the trees Won't you listen to the breeze? Its singing sweet Its singing low Staring at my screen when I just want to talk I said that I'd call you back but I guess I just forgot Are we playing a game is it just tug of war? Then I'll loosen my grip and I'll fall to the floor Distance is moving us apart That we forget to find our heart And I'll send out my love in more ways than one The receiver is faulty, its dead and its done So I played a tune on my second-hand radio A single tear fell lined the corner of my cheekbone Listen to the song Won't you sing out along? Its singing sweet Its singing low The fault within me is mine to hold I will sing the only words I know I remember every word you spoke

I can see the sun is shining Through the tops of all the eucalyptus trees I can hear the magpie calling To remind us each and every day is dear But I find I'm always wishing you were here I'm so far through the woodlands I can barely see two feet in front of me So I'll leave a trail of poems Etching every line I can onto the leaves So you'll hear the words when you come after me If I make it down to that solid ground Take my hand, my darling friend I've got a girl, a candle glowing She's the warmest light to ever lead me on And I swear the way I'm going I won't ever have to sing another song Because I guess its only you I'm dreaming of If I make it down to that solid ground Take my hand, my darling friend There's a grumbling on the hillside There's a rock for every living human being Its a bitter, bloody riptide Pulling each and every one into the sea But it seems to me so beautiful a scene And if I make it down to that solid ground Take my hand, my darling friend

about

Due to the unforeseen circumstances of 2020, Benoit's fifth album, 'Valley', is expected to be released slightly later than planned.

The songs of 'Interlude' were written during Melbourne's extensive lockdown. In anticipation of the forthcoming release of 'Valley', 'Interlude' was released to satisfy the artistic urge to share and give, during a time of waiting and uncertainty.

These are love songs, mixed with quiet reflection and contentment.

See you on the other side.
